We all love Churchmead Playground and thanks to the continued efforts of the Lavant Volunteer Task Force (LVTF), it looks pretty good right now. The playground undergoes annual safety inspections and it has become obvious over recent years that the original equipment (everything except the new junior swings and the big slide) is getting to the point where it will need replacing before too long. So over recent times, LPC has been asking users of the playground how it might best be refurbished.

Most recently, we have approached 4 playground design companies, provided them with a brief, and asked them for their ideas. The current pandemic prevented us showing them to you when they arrived in early Spring, but we finally managed to do this earlier in September 2020.

So, thanks to everyone who came on Sunday 13th September to give LPC their opinions on the 4 refurbishment proposals.

On 13th October 2020 two playground refurbishment designs were shortlisted for further progression. The relevant companies are now amending their design proposals to better fit the preferred requirements (based on public feedback). Once received a final decision on design/layout will be made by LPC. Funding will need to be sought from a multitude of sources, including public donation, to enable LPC to finish the project. Keep an eye out for future notice updates.
